UN City Profiles: Future Saudi Cities Programme

The Future Saudi Cities Programme is a joint programme developed by the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MoMRA) and UN-Habitat, implemented in close cooperation with the municipalities of 17 major Saudi cities. Its key goals are reducing the phenomenon of urban sprawl, assessing public transit plans, and raising the institutional and technical capacity level in the field of urban planning. As an urban planner and GIS specialist, I led the urban analytics and strategic recommendations effort for three cities: Jeddah, Makkah, and Tabouk.
